SALT LAKE CITY â Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic fewer people have gone to the dentist, Dr. Jeri Bullock, associate dean of clinical affairs for the University of Utah School of Dentistry, said.
âWe have seen a significant decrease in the number of patients we are seeing,â she said.
Many people, like Spencer Nicholas, said they are skipped dental appointments because of concerns over the virus.
âI wasnât going to go somewhere and have somebody work in my mouth,â he said.

Jenna describes herself as loving, determined, and excited
Jenna graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science Studies and a minor in Biology in May of 2018. During her time at Boise State University, Jenna was a member of the Honors College and also took advantage of a variety of extracurriculars offered to students such as Partnership Jamaica (leadership and volunteer), Alpha Chi Omega (leadership and community), and served as the Secretary of Academic Affairs for ASBSU. From the town of Twin Falls, Jenna now finds herself in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah School of Dentistry knee-deep in dental school books but knowing that her education will make a difference.
