Susan "May" Farrell (August 2, 1953 - April 18, 2021)

She was born on August 2, 1953 in Jackson, Wyoming. She attended school in Jackson and Lander, graduating from Lander Valley High School.  Advertisement - Story continues below. She married her soulmate, Jack Farrell, in 2003. They settled in Superior, WY. They enjoyed mud bogging and riding their dune buggy. They both had a love for nature and spending time with their friends.  Previously, Susan married Carey Powell of Riverton in 1971. They raised two children: Jared (wife Angie, along with their three boys Ethan, Adrian and Korvyn), and Caralee (husband Mike and their three children, Jade, Ava and Wyatt). They were later divorced but remained friends. 

Resort Hotel Clears Pinehurst Planning Board

Plans for a hotel key to the Pinehurst Resort’s new role as an anchor site for the U.S. Open and other golfing championships have cleared the first phase of the village’s approval process. After more than four hours of presentations, public hearings and discussion on Wednesday, Pinehurst’s Planning and Zoning board unanimously recommended the conditional rezoning of 2.7 acres off of Carolina Vista Drive to allow for construction of a 64,000-square-foot hotel. The project with the working title “The Lodge at Pinehurst” will involve 34 rooms, including some suites, lobby, meeting spaces, locker room, fitness area and bar. It’s scheduled to be finished by the end of 2023, in time for the next U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in 2024.
