BONGAIGAON/GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the BJP governments in the State and at the Centre are synonymous with socio-economic security to all.
The Chief Minister addressed election rallies in South Abhyapuri, Bongaigaon, Sarukhetri, Bhabanipur, Patacharkuchi, Dispur and West Guwahati on Saturday.
Addressing an election rally at South Abhyapuri in favour of BJP s alliance candidate Punendra Banikya, Sonowal said that the BJP-led government in the State taking the blessings of all sections of the people adopted a policy for the equal development of all districts of the State. Immediately after coming to power in 2014, the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took a universal policy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Bikash and Sabka Biswas. It is because of his policy all the states of the country made impressive records in their respective development journey, he said.

GUWAHATI: PM Narendra Modi via video conferencing from New Delhi kicked off multiple road, water and digital connectivity projects worth Rs 9,500 crore in Assam, which includes foundation stone laying for a 19-km long bridge over Brahmaputra river, which will be India’s longest bridge, and bhoomi pujan for construction of a bridge connecting world’s largest inhabited river island Majuli with mainland Assam.
Modi in his speech said, “This will open new doors for tourism in Assam. Assam can be big destination for cruise tourism in country. We have to work together to make Assam the center of ‘Atmanirbharbharat.”
The four lane 19-km long bridge over the Brahmaputra between Dhubri (on North Bank) and Phulbari (in Meghalaya on South Bank) on NH-127B will be the eight bridge over the mighty river will be built with a total cost of Rs 4997 crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched several connectivity projects costing Rs 15,000 cr in Assam on Thursday. He said that these projects would not only boost trade, economy and industrialisation but also open a new chapter for the tourism industry in the northeastern region.
