Local eatery The Cove is known for being a spot where guardians of tiny humans can sip on a craft brew while their wards run wild. For months during the pandemic, however, the removal of the venue’s outdoor play structure made the space decidedly less kid-friendly. The restaurant took to social media this week to announce the “long awaited” reinstallation of the play structure, to the delight of many of its followers. A number of responses to the restaurant’s Facebook post share that families had stopped coming to the restaurant due to the removal of the playground.

Service industry workers have been one of the largest at-risk populations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, especially since Texas restaurants and bars reopened to full capacity. As a way to keep them from getting sick, a local organization is coming through with help.
Heard, an organization dedicated to the well-being of food and drink workers, will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Burleson Yard Beer Garden on Thursday, April 15 as a way to help keep those working in the service industry safe. The clinic will only be accessible to those currently working in the industry.

Some San Antonio foodservice employees are getting a vaccination fast track. Local nonprofit Heard will hold a vaccination clinic for foodservice workers on Thursday, April 15, providing 1,000 shots to active food and beverage employees. A subsidiary program of local nonprofit Saint City Culinary Foundation, Heard provides mental and physical health resources for foodservice workers.
Registration for the clinic is required at via the nonprofit’s website. It will take place at Burleson Yard Beer Garden, and Spanish-speaking volunteers will be available

The Broadway establishment was named after its former life as an auto garage, and it featured car parts and other auto-themed decor along with local artwork. Its extensive menu included enchiladas, fish tacos and house-made tortillas as well as draft beer and the aforementioned margs.
