MONTCLAIR, NJ - Members of the community demanded the Board of Education (BOE) conduct a thorough investigation into mistreatment allegations described in a letter from Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds Robert Kelley in Wednesday’s BOE meeting.
The letter refers to a “years-long pattern of ‘employee discrimination and criminal sabotage’,” some of which occurred just before elementary schools opened for hybrid learning. One individual stated during public comment that the community received Kelley’s letter via a post in Secret Montclair, a private Facebook group for Montclair residents. It has since been removed.
“I’m aware of our complaint that we received,” Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Ponds started off his superintendent’s statement. “We’re investigating the complaint [.] We are following all processes and guidelines.”
