The deadly outbreak of COVID-19 at Oliver’s Sunnybank long-term care home has ended.
The outbreak at Sunnybank had 38 cases associated with it, including 27 residents, 10 staff and an essential visitor, according to an Interior Health media release issued today, Feb. 17. Six residents died in the outbreak.
I’m happy we are able to declare another COVID-19 outbreak over, Interior Health chief medical health officer Dr. Albert de Villiers said in the release. As COVID-19 vaccinations continue to roll-out, we will be able to protect more of our most vulnerable members of our communities and prevent ongoing outbreaks in the future. ....
