Right issues saw an increase of 15%
Pandemic does not seem to have affected fund mobilisation through capital market as Financial Year 2020-21 (FY 21) saw resources raising through public issue more than doubled. Mutual fund and corporate bond market also registered good growth; a Finance Ministry statement released on Wednesday.
“Despite the uncertainty prevailing in FY 2020-21 owing to Covid-19 pandemic, fund raising in FY 2020-21 was better than that in FY 2019-20 for both Public Issues and Rights Issues,” the statement said.
According to data compiled by the Ministry, fund raising through public issue jumped 115 per cent during FY 21 while growth was 15 per cent for rights issues. Similarly, number of unique investors across different kind of mutual fund grew by 10 per cent, while number of issues in Corporate Bond Market increased by 10 per cent in FY 2020-21. ....

NEW DELHI: Mutual funds bought dozens of smallcap and midcap stocks during the March quarter. Among them, at least eight stocks saw MF holding go up by over 100 basis points, March quarter shareholding data available so far suggests.
Analysts have been positive on many of these stocks of late. Among them, Mayur Uniquoters saw MF holding rise by 222 basis points to 3.6 per cent at the end of March quarter from 1.38 per cent at the end of December. The stock is up 34 per cent so far in 2021.
Sharekhan is expecting the company to report a 40 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in March quarter profit. ....

Within the category, liquid funds witnessed the highest outflows of Rs 19,384 crore, followed by low duration funds Rs 15,847 crore.

MUMBAI: The domestic mutual fund industry s assets under management (AUM) dipped 1 per cent on-month in March because of net outflows from open-ended debt funds but cumulative inflows in fiscal 2021 equalled Rs 2.09 lakh crore while the asset base expanded 41 per cent.
In contrast, open-ended equity funds recorded net inflows for the first time since June 2020, according to Crisil Research. The last month of fiscal 2021 saw net outflows of Rs 29,745 crore and the industry s asset base settled at Rs 31.43 lakh crore, coming off the record high of Rs 31.64 lakh crore the month before. ....
