Four terrorists killed in encounters in Anantnag and Shopian in J&K


Four militants from Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and al-Badr outfits, including those involved in the killing of an off-duty Territorial Army soldier in Anantnag on Friday, were gunned down on Sunday in two encounters with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
With this, the death toll in the encounters that began on Saturday in Anantnag and Shopian has climbed to five as one militant was killed in the initial exchange of fire.
Towseef Ahmad Bhat and Aamir Hussain Ganie, both from Bijbehara and linked to the LeT, were killed at village Semthan in the Bijbehara area of south Kashmir s Anantnag district after they refused to surrender and fired indiscriminately on a search party, the police said. ....

Delhi Court issues arrest warrant against Hafiz Saeed in terror funding


A Delhi court on Saturday issued an arrest warrant against Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chiefand26/11Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed inamoney laundering case related to terror funding in Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides issuing thenon-bailable warrant (NBW)against Saeed,Special Judge Praveen Singh also issued warrants against three co-accused Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali, separatist Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Funtoosh and businessman from the UAE Naval Kishore Kapoor who are currently lodged in the Tihar central jail here, seeking their production before the court.
The court passed the direction while taking cognisance of a chargesheet filed in the matter by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged money laundering. ....

Pak court sentences Hafiz Saeed's two close aides to over 15 years in jail


An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has handed down more than 15 years jail term each to two close aides of Mumbai terror attack mastermind and banned Jamat-ud Dawah (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed, including the outfit s media face Yahya Mujahid, in a terror financing case.
The anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Tuesday also sentenced Saeed s brother-in-law Abdul Rehman Makki to six-month in jail.
Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta awarded 15-and-half-year imprisonment each to Yahya Mujahid and Zafar Iqbal, and six-month term to Prof Abdul Rehman Makki in a case registered by the Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police, a court official told PTI on Wednesday. ....
