Patricia Dowd, 57, had reported flu-like symptoms and died abruptly at home on February 6, 2020. Her death was not initially linked to the coronavirus, but in April US media reported that Dowd had died from COVID-19. ....

I Can Only Imagine is adding a few more faith-based roles to his repertoire.
Quaid played the role of Bart Millard s abusive father in the film
I Can Only Imagine. Based on the lead singer of MercyMe s real life, the movie is a story of redemption.
To get into the role, Quaid says he used things in his own life, including, my faith as a Christian, during a video interview with The Dallas Morning News in 2018.
On top of being an actor, Quaid is also a musician. He wrote a song for his mother that was used in the movie called On My Way to Heaven . ....

“Queen & Slim” filmmaker and “Insecure” executive producer and director Melina Matsoukas is paying it forward, bringing her extensive filmmaking expertise to the youth and joining Ghetto Film School’s Board of Directors.
“In my career I’ve had two guiding ambitions, one is to tell the stories of underrepresented people in ways that expand our collective consciousness and the other is to find all the ways I can help young artists and filmmakers tell their own stories in their own voices,” Matsoukas said in a statement. “I’m honored to join the board of Ghetto Film School, an organization I’ve long admired, and to work with them in expanding access to film education and fostering young talent.” ....

When Pamela Addison’s husband died from Covid-19 last April at age 44, she felt completely alone. She didn’t know anyone her age who’d lost someone to Covid, and she hadn’t seen stories about people as young as her husband, Martin, dying from the virus.
That was, at least, until she opened a sympathy card from a woman she had never met.
“You are not alone,” the card began.
“And at that moment, the weight of feeling alone was lifted, because now there was someone else who understood,” Addison told CNN’s Poppy Harlow. ....
