ECIJA jumps to fourth in Spanish law firm ranking after revenue tops €70m 05 May 2021 Firm saw turnover increase 20.6% in 2020, driven by growth in its international operations Image courtesy of ECIJA Spanish law firm ECIJA saw its revenue top €70m for the first time in 2020, catapulting it into the top four firms in Spain by global turnover, according to rankings published by Spanish newspaper Expansión. That was a fifth higher than its revenue for the 2019 financial year, which clocked in at €58.8m – making it the seventh largest firm at that time. A significant part of the revenue growth recorded in 2020 came from its international operations, which grew by 27.9% to €27.4m. That follows its recent spate of M&A activity across Latin America, opening five new offices in the region in the past year alone. ....
Celebración Del Trance Profano Noel Gardner , March 8th, 2021 09:12 With adaptions of Moroccan and Spanish folk music and soaring guitar-playing by Thomas House of Sweet Williams, Concepción s Les Conches Velasques have come up with something very special indeed, finds Noel Gardner This group, from Zaragoza in the north of Spain, don’t appear to enjoy any great domestic profile or have the aggressive marketing nous to create one, nor are they part of any obvious movement or scene of like minds. Spinda, an indie label from the south of the country who’ve released Celebración Del Trance Profano, say “We love great bands making noise!” by way of a motto. Only with this album, Les Conches Velasques’ second, can it be called a band per se: previously, on a self-titled Bandcamp EP from 2018 (later turned into an LP from 2020 by adding two songs), everything was played and sung by Pablo Jiménez. The exquisitely choreographed piece chronicles the evolution of Spanish music and dance, linking the classical traditions influence on the more modern genre, flamenco. At 9 PM we retreat to the olive groves of Almazara de Paulenca for Fiesta Flamenca, an intimate performance broadcast live from a rustic, family-owned olive mill. Against a backdrop of hand-hewn timbers and terracotta tiles, guitarist Pablo Giménez leads a Granada based ensemble which features dancers Rocío Montoya, of Riverdance acclaim, and Jasiel Nahim.
