Lawyers chambers case: SC issues contempt notice to IHC registrar

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) Tuesday issued a contempt of court notice to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) registrar and sought his reply within a week.
A two-member apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, heard the review petition, filed by the Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) against apex court judgment, ordering demolition of lawyersâ illegal chambers, established on a football ground, footpaths and greenbelts in Islamabad.
The court had dismissed the IBA appeal on March 2, filed against the IHC verdict declaring the establishment of lawyer chambers as âillegal, void and without jurisdiction and authorityâ. On Tuesday, Additional Attorney General told the court that the IHC registrar had filed a reply regarding demolition of illegal lawyer chambers. ....

Prozone Intu Properties announced that the Mumbai Bench of the National Company law Tribunal vide its order dated 17 March
2021 has sanctioned the Scheme of Amalgamation of Royal Mall (Transferor Company) with Prozone Developers & Realtors (Transferee Company) and their respective Shareholders and Creditors (Scheme) pursuant to sections 230-232 and other applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.

The Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) on Monday announced that it was closing9 medical and paramedical colleges with immediate effect till further orders.
University Registrar K.S. Gangadhara Somayaji in a circular here said teaching and non-teaching staff of medical colleges, however, would work normally. So would be interns, postgraduate students and nursing staff. Medical college hospital too would function normally.
The college would arrange online classes for students.
The colleges being closed include medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, allied healthcare, Ayurvedic, Homeopathy and Naturopathy.
Though Mr. Somayaji did not ascribe any specific reason for the decision, District COVID-19 nodal officer H. Ashok said as many as 27 students, including seven on Monday, from medical and paramedical courses of Yenepoya tested positive for COVID-19 in t ....
