VACCINATIONS against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) are expected to resume in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue next week, with the arrival of 56,000 additional doses of the Sinovac vaccine Friday morning, April 30, 2021.
Dr. Jaime Bernadas, Department of Health (DOH) 7 director, said the additional vaccines will be administered to Priority Groups A1 (healthcare workers), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities) and A4 (essential workers) in Central Visayas.
“A shipment of 56,000 doses of Sinovac arrived at the CHD (Center for Health Development) 7. Cebu City will get its share,” Bernadas told SunStar Cebu in a text message. ....

THE Cebu City Government will resume its coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine rollout for members of Priority Codes A1 (health care workers) and A2 (senior citizens) on Monday, May 3, 2021.
The City was forced to suspend vaccination on April 23 after it ran out of vaccines.
On Saturday, May 1, it received more than 9,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine from China.
Vice Mayor Michael Rama, lead convener of Vaccine Advisory Board (VAB), said that first to be accommodated on Monday will be senior citizens on the waiting list and those who were supposed to be inoculated last April 23. ....
