Utah firefighters, Task Force Two, headed to Oregon

SALT LAKE CITY Dozens of Utah firefighters comprising Utah Task Force Two left for Oregon on Sunday morning.
Utah Task Force Two is made up of 41 personnel from nine Utah agencies. The firefighters are headed to Oregon as part of an Emergency Management Assistance Compact request.
The Utah Division of Emergency Management said the firefighters will be in Oregon for two weeks. Utah Task Force Two consists of firefighters from Unified Fire, Layton Fire, the Orem Fire Department, the Weber Fire District, the West Valley City Fire Department, the Lone Peak Fire District, Park City Fire, Murray Fire, and Draper City Fire. ....

Governor Abbott Activates Resources As Heavy Rain, Flooding Threaten Eastern, Southern Regions Of Texas

Governor Greg Abbott today activated numerous resources to assist South, East, and Southeast Texas communities that are expected to receive heavy rain and flooding through the beginning of next week. Severe storms are also forecasted across West Texas on Sunday afternoon and evening, including storms that could bring damaging winds and large hail. 
This year s spring season has brought an unprecedented amount of rain and flash flooding to many of our communities, and I urge Texans throughout the eastern and southern regions of the state to remain alert to changing weather conditions and heed the guidance of their local officials, said Governor Abbott. These resources will help the State of Texas continue to support our communities and keep Texans safe.   ....

AUSTIN, Texas In response to severe flooding threats across Texas, Governor Greg Abbott today ordered the Texas State Operations Center (SOC) to expand its daily operations to 24-hours a day through Friday. Severe storms are expected to bring significant river flooding and flash flooding to the Coastal Bend as well as North, East, and South Central Texas beginning today through the end of the week.
“As severe weather continues to threaten communities across the state, Texans need to stay vigilant against significant flash flooding that is expected to accompany these storms,” said Governor Abbott. “We are deploying a variety of resources to assist communities in the path of these severe weather events, and I continue to urge Texans to remain cautious and preparing ahead of time for flash flooding. ” ....
