ARTIST’S PROFILE

I first met Junyee when I was a student at the University of the Philippines in the early seventies. Together with some artist friends, we would later visit him when he began living in the campus of UP, Los Banos, which has become his home and a source of indigenous materials and inspiration for the site-specific installations for which he became widely known as the pioneer of installation art not just in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia. Those were halcyon days, walking and talking amidst the lush forestry and mountain trails at the base of Mount Makiling. ....

Making magic: Young WV filmmaker finds her place in the Disney kingdom

Mid-pandemic, Jillian Howell and a handful of colleagues were able to review clips from âRaya and the Last Dragonâ at the studio in Los Angeles while the film was still in production. âThat was the only time I saw âRayaâ on the big screen until I bought a ticket to go see it in the theater,â she says.

.-Dartmouth today announced that it has selected the renowned design practice Snøhetta to lead the expansion and redesign of its Hopkins Center for the Arts. Since its opening in 1962, as the first major university-based center in the U.S. to unite the arts under a single roof, the Hopkins Center has been recognized for its groundbreaking approach to arts education and the presentation of performances by leading and emerging talents across creative disciplines.
The project is part of Dartmouths expansive re-imagining of the Hops arts programs, which will encourage even more ambitious and varied creativity.
