With that said, ahead of the official announcement, we have a leak that gives us a glimpse of how Android 12 is going to look like, and if these screenshots are anything to go by, we will see a massive overhaul in terms of visuals. It has been news for some time now that Google is hard at work to introduce an in-depth theming system for Android 12, and RKBDI revealed these design concepts from the Google briefings with OEM partners. The design shows a sand color that is pulled from similar-looking wallpapers of hills as well as dunes. ....

But one specific change is still missing for many device owners: the new grid size options in the Pixel launcher. I know it sounds pretty minor, but a surprising number of people were looking forward to the feature, which allows you to set custom grid sizes and adjust the density of icons on your Pixel s home screen. It can even help with accessibility for those without much in the way of fine motor control. But, unfortunately, the option still isn t present for everyone. ....
Google is now using the Pixel Launcher’s ‘At a Glance’ widget to provide users with severe weather alerts. Specifically, two lines of the Launcher will be taken up when a weather alert is available. The first will note the type of alert, such as “Winter Storm” warning, while the second will list which agency issued the warning. It’s important to note, however, that At a Glance will not list day/date while in this mode, although current weather conditions and temperature remain visible. As 9to5Google notes, some Pixel users have reported that the alert is too prominent, in which case Google has a way to disable it. To do this, hold down the At a Glance space to bring up ‘Preferences,’ then select ‘Forecasts for severe weather.’ From here, you can toggle alerts on or off. ....

And yet, Google knows this widget can actually do more than what it does right now, so the company has updated it with functionality that you’re going to love. Beginning recently, the At a Glance widget can also display severe weather alerts, such as Flash Flood Watch or Winter Storm Warning right on the home screen. ....
