A brand new restaurant in a brand new hotel! Nature is healing. The backstory: Josh grew up in Brookline, and Jen taught history here before they opened La Morra almost two decades ago. So naturally they were inspired by the story of the Punch Bowl Tavern, which opened in 1730. “It was such a community epicenter that they named Brookline Village ‘Punch Bowl Village’ after it,” Jen says. Brookline Village hotel and Punch Bowl restaurant opening soon

Wicked Local Redcoats drank there in the days leading up to the Revolution. Stage coaches heading to and from Boston stopped to share news and gossip. The Brookline Selectmen as they were known then held meetings over food and drink.  In Brookline’s earliest days, the Punch Bowl Tavern made Brookline Village a hub of activity. Now, an upcoming partnership between the Hilton Garden Inn and La Morra restaurateurs Jen and Josh Ziskin aims to restore that spirit of communal gathering.   On April 1, the Ziskins will open Punch Bowl, a “modern city tavern” located in the new hotel, which is set to open March 30.
