24 Frames Dokumentarfilm, F/IRN 2016 Die Fotografie hatte im Leben von Abbas Kiarostami stets einen besonderen Stellenwert. Als er 1960 nach seinem Studium an der Kunsthochschule von Teheran den Wunsch hegte, Filmregisseur zu werden, begann er auch mit dem Fotografieren von Stillleben und iranischen Landschaften. Während sich sein vielfältiges Gesamtwerk weiterentwickelte, führte er diese formale Suche fort und häufte Hunderte von Bildern an, die 2007 im Centre Pompidou ausgestellt wurden. Mit seinem Film 24 Frames schuf Abbas Kiarostami eine dialogische Verbindung zwischen den beiden künstlerischen Ausdrucksformen, denen er sich sein Leben lang gewidmet hatte â zwischen seiner Arbeit als Filmemacher und seiner Arbeit als Fotograf. Eines Tages, als ich nichts zu tun hatte, kaufte ich eine billige Yashica und ging hinaus in die Natur. Ich wollte ganz alleine mit der Natur sein. Gleichzeitig wollte ich die bezaubernden Augenblicke, die ich erlebt ....
