By Raynald C Rivera | The Peninsula Doha: In celebration of Qatar National Day, a first-of-its-kind group exhibition featuring diverse works by seven Qatar-based artists has been launched at Katara Art Centre. Titled “Crystal Art”, the show displays latest creations by Abdulla Anwari, Ahmad Al Emadi, Bachir Mohamad, Fahad Alobaidly, Lulu M, Mohammed Al Hamadi, and Muna Al Bader who experimented using resin as a major component of their pieces. For this exhibition, Al Emadi is showcasing a series of installations made of clear resin and rug. Titled “Tezkar” (souvenir), the collection was inspired by the concept of collecting objects during a journey and which tourists are likely to acquire as souvenirs from Qatar, according to the artist. ....
