A blood donation camp was organised jointly by Telangana Real Estate Developers Association (TREDA), Seva Bharthi in association with Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), Cyberabad Commissionerate of Police, in Green Grace, a gated community at Khajaguda on Sunday.
“We have taken this initiative to organise these camps starting today as there is shortage of blood as donors have not been coming to hospitals in the last 15 months. Going to their doorstep eliminates their travel time and will enable them to overcome their fear of contracting COVID-19. We wish to make blood readily available to patients through these camps,” said TREDA vice-president Vijaya Sai Meka. ....

Renowned Radiologist Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao Passes Away

Former Director of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Dr Kakarla Subba Rao passed away in the wee hours of Friday. About a month back Subba Rao got admitted in Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad with age-related health complications.
According to doctors at KIMS, Subba Rao breathed his last this morning. He was born on 25 January 1925 in Pedamuttevi, a small village in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. He pursued MBBS in Andhra Medical College in the year 1950 and later landed in the USA. He served as Professor of Radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York and in 1985 he returned to the country inspired by NTR. ....

Renowned radiologist and former Director of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao passed away while undergoing treatment at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad in the wee hours of Friday. He was 96.
Dr. Rao was admitted to KIMS a month ago with age-related health complications. The doctors at the hospital said he breathed his last in the early hours of Friday. ....

Kodi Cheldra Ramesh, who likes to call himself KCR, is a 40-year-old barber who has decided to serve the State like his idol Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Every year, celebrating the birth week of the CM, Ramesh offers free barber services to cancer patients.
He was seen wearing a PPE kit and giving a shave and a haircut for free to cancer patients outside the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
“Most barbers hesitate to provide haircuts for poor cancer patients. Life has become more difficult for them after the Covid-19 pandemic. I am devoted to serving these patients for five days until February 17, the CM’s birthday,” said Ramesh. ....
