Giga Energy to go public in up to $7 billion SPAC deal

(Reuters) -Transportation solutions provider Giga Energy Inc is going public through a merger with blank-check company Yunhong International in a deal valued at up to $7.35 billion, the companies said on Monday.
Giga Energy said it had also secured nearly $308 million from private investor Harvest Tech Investment Management (UK) Co Ltd.
Formerly known as Ares Motor Works, Giga Energy aims to accelerate transition of commercial and industrial vehicles to zero emissions and plans to be headquartered in Hangzhou, China.
The multi-billion-dollar deal is another mega-merger that marks a rebound in activity in the blank-check space, after a lull due to increased regulatory scrutiny and saturated investor appetite. ....

May 13 (Reuters) - Insurer Genworth Financial Inc said on Thursday it had deferred the initial public offering of its mortgage insurance unit, Enact Holdings, citing significant trading volatility in the sector.
“Genworth’s Board of Directors determined that current market pricing for the planned offering does not accurately reflect Enact’s value,” Genworth Chief Executive Officer Tom McInerney, said.
McInerney said Genworth will continue to evaluate its options as market conditions develop.
The listing was proposed after a $2.7 billion buyout agreement between Genworth and billionaire Lu Zhiqiang’s investment firm, China Oceanwide Holdings Group Co, fell through last month. ....

(Reuters) -Insurer Genworth Financial Inc said on Thursday it had deferred the initial public offering of its mortgage insurance unit, Enact Holdings, citing significant trading volatility in the sector.

Brookfield's car battery maker Clarios confidentially files for U.S. IPO

(Reuters) -Car battery maker Clarios, backed by Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management Inc, said on Wednesday it had confidentially filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering.
The company did not disclose other details about the proposed offering.
The flotation of Clarios, which could be valued at over $20 billion in its IPO according to a person familiar with the matter, would mark one of the biggest stock market debuts from the automotive sector this year.
Electric-vehicle maker Lucid Motors struck a $24-billion merger deal with a blank-check firm in February, while another high-flying startup Rivian is also lining up to go public later this year. ....
