RAJSHAHI, May 26, 2021 (BSS)- Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman today spent a busy day by inaugurating and visiting different development projects in Rajshahi city.
The Minister formally inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) in the compound of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
The building has been constructed at a cost of around TK 20 crore.
INMAS provides not only nuclear medicine service to the patients but also plays a vital role for human resource development in this field. This gives a new dimension to the endeavor to represent the institute as a “Centre of Excellence” in the field of nuclear medicine services in Bangladesh.

The second wave of coronavirus infection has hit Bangladesh through mainly the UK and South African variants.
A group of researchers of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in a study analysed genomic sequence of 10 samples. Of them, UK variant was found in six samples and South African variant in three samples and one Australian variant. But, they did not find any Indian variant.
CVASU prof Paritosh Kumar Biswas, Prof Sharmin Chowdhury, Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Rana, Dr Tridip Das, Dr Pranesh Dutta, Dr M Sirajul Islam and Dr Tanvir Ahmed Nizami conducted the research.
