DHAKA, Dec 28, 2020 (BSS) Emboldened by their experience of organizing two tournaments, keeping a huge number of players and stakeholders in bio-bubble, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) remains upbeat to successfully host the West Indies in next January-February.
With the series against the Caribbean side, who is set to arrive in Dhaka on January 10, Bangladesh will resume its International cricket. The Tigers’ last International series was a home series against Zimbabwe in March before the Covid-19 pandemic induced a long break.

Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan Papon said on Friday that in the new normal environment they have to compromise on the number of Test matches to accommodate other formats and ICC events.
Bangladesh got a reality check when West Indies insisted that they are not ready to play anything apart from games involving ICC Championship and the ICC World Cup League.
ICC Test championship suggests only two tests are required so the tourist agreed to play two Tests and similarly as the ODI’s series points are related with ICC World Cup League that prompted the tourist to take part in it and nothing more as they wanted to wrap the series as quickly as possible. ....

Bangladesh Twenty20 skipper Mahmudullah Riyad grabbed the chance of winning both of the country’s first domestic tournaments in the pandemic era as captain as he helped Gemcon Khulna clinch the Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup.
Khulna beat Gazi Group Chattogram by five runs in the final on the back of a captain’s knock by Mahmudullah and lifted the title of Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim apologised to a teammate Tuesday after an angry confrontation during a Twenty20 tournament.
The 33-year-old wicketkeeper turned on Nasum Ahmed after the two nearly collided while going for a catch.
Mushfiqur made the catch, but then shied as if to throw the ball at Nasum, or land a blow.
He faced a storm of social media criticism for his behaviour during the Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup game between his Beximco Dhaka side and Fortune Barishal. ....
