Senator Erin McGreehan has brought forward a motion to the Seanad on the Good Friday Agreement and Shared Island Initiative

Fianna Fáil Senators Erin McGreehan and Niall Blaney have brought forward a motion to the Seanad on the Good Friday Agreement and Shared Island Initiative yesterday.
The motion proposes that Seanad Eireann reaffirms its commitment to the Good Friday Agreement and requests the full implementation of all aspects of this international agreement.
The motion also seeks that the Seanad welcomes the Shared Island Initiative, including the financial commitment of €500 million over five years for cross-border projects, as well as the Shared Island Dialogues and a research programme, which are currently underway. ....

The Taoiseach has warned of very serious harm if people continue trying to use Brexit as an issue to create points of dispute, and misrepresenting the impact of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Micheál Martin said rioting witnessed in recent weeks demonstrated what can happen when sectarian tensions are left to grow and are then encouraged by political events.
The Fianna Fáil leader was speaking at his party s annual 1916 commemoration in Arbour Hill.

Louth Fianna Fáil Senator Erin McGreehan is encouraging applications to be made to the Shared Island Initiative. The Irish Research Council, in partnership with the Department of the Taoiseach, has opened a call for applications for research related to the Government’s Shared Island initiative.
Up to ten awards, with a maximum value of €20,000 each, will be made under the New Foundations programme and will be funded by the Shared Island unit of the Department of the Taoiseach.
Senator McGreehan said, “The Government’s Shared Island initiative is engaging with all communities and traditions on the island to build consensus around a shared future, underpinned by the Good Friday Agreement.   ....
