A 19-year-old has been arrested after allegedly attempting to speed away from police on the Central Coast. Police say the man tried to flee officers on three separate occasions, and was caught when he eventually crashed into a concrete barrier. He was first detected speeding behind the wheel of a Toyota Hilux on the Pacific Highway at Wyoming. Officers initially gave chase, but pulled back due to safety concerns. The Hilux was later spotted in Gosford, and the driver was briefly pulled over before he allegedly sped away. Again, officers gave chase but had to abandon the pursuit over safety concerns. ....

Timoci Vula 4 May, 2021, 6:30 am Members of the public in Lautoka are advised that a section of the Narara Parade within the Sugar City’s central business district will be temporarily closed over the next six days. This will allow Fiji Roads Authority workers to carry out emergency resurfacing works. FRA acting CEO Kamal Prasad said the temporary road closure would be in place from 7am today (Tuesday, May 4) until Monday, May 10. Mr Prasad said a part of Narara Parade from Elizabeth Square to Tappoo City Complex would be closed off to motorists. He said detour routes would be set up for the duration of the road closure and motorists were advised to be courteous and obey all traffic signage and directions. ....
