Halifax police release two men previously arrested in connection with Brandon Polegato death

Halifax Regional Police have released two men previously arrested in relation to the killing of Brandon Polegato.
Police say they made the arrests on Thursday afternoon – one in Halifax and the other in Dartmouth.
As of Friday, police say the two men have been released without charges.
Polegato was killed on Sunday evening in an apartment building on Washmill Lake Drive in Halifax.
Police had responded to a weapons call and found Polegato in the hallway where he died of gunshot wounds.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has ruled Brandon’s death a homicide, Halifax Regional Police said in a news release. Investigators believe that Brandon’s homicide was a not a random act. ....

Halifax police ID victim, say suspicious death at apartment was a homicide

Halifax Regional Police say 26-year-old Brandon Polegato of Halifax was the victim of a homicide on Sunday.
Police say they responded to a weapons call at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday and officers found Polegato dead in the hallway of a building in the 600 block of Washmill Lake Drive.
Based on today’s autopsy, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has ruled the death a homicide and confirmed the male victim, police said in a news release. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
The Homicide Unit and a forensic team is still on the scene as part of the investigation. ....
