A lawyer for Brian Lee Wilson, 54, appeared before Justice Timothy Gabriel of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court Tuesday morning to discuss logistics for the jury trial, which is expected to take two weeks. Wilson faces 13 charges including sexual assault, communicating for the purposes of obtaining sexual services and breach of trust of a public official. ....

Nikita Dedam has been charged with second-degree murder.(Gail Harding/CBC) An Esgenoôpetitj woman charged with second-degree murder has been given another two weeks to secure a lawyer. Nikita Marie Dedam, 34, is charged in connection with the death of Christopher Dedam, also of Esgenoôpetitj, last August. RCMP previously said officers were called to Esgenoôpetitj First Nation northeast of Miramichi at 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2020. Christopher Dedam, 34, was found dead at a home on Micmac Road. His death was ruled a homicide. Nikita Dedam was charged with second-degree murder on April 1. ....
