Top French theatre director Alain Francon has been stabbed in the throat outside his hotel in a daylight attack. The 76-year-old suffered serious injuries in the attack which took place earlier today outside his hotel in Montpellier. Francon, 76, has been teaching at the National School of Dramatic Arts since mid-February and living in the city s historic central district, a source close to the inquiry said. The stab wounds damaged Francon s carotid artery, responsible for transporting blood to the head, according to Actu.fr. After collapsing in the street around 11.30am this morning, emergency services arrived and transported him to hospital for treatment. ....
