NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: The second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive for frontline workers in Noida is set to kick off on Thursday. In Gautam Budh Nagar district, a total of 5,750 frontline workers are expected to be inoculated on the first day.
About 1,008 frontline workers had already received the shots on February 5, which was the final day of the first phase of vaccination drive for the health care workers.
The district will have 46 session sites across its 20 centres. While 14,500 doses of Covaxin have been received, the first day will see only Covishield doses being administered to officers from the CISF, ITBP and the district panchayati raj (DPRO) department. Covaxin doses will be given from February 12 to 18 and a mop-up round will be held on February 22. “We have made all preparations for Thursday. In a first, Member of Parliament from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Dr Mahesh Sharma will be administered the COVID-19 vaccine on January 16 (Saturday). Sharma also chaired a meeting with the doctors of the district on the vaccination drive. Meanwhile, the first consignment the COVID-19 vaccines reached Noida amid tight security on Thursday. Preparations for vaccinations are in full-swing in the district.
As many as eight web booths have been identified for the vaccination drive from 10 am to 5 pm. The eight booths are - Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Sharda Hospital, Child PGI, District Hospital, JayPee Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Reality Hospital and Kailash Hospital.
