Nile Ranger leaving Ealing Magistrates Court, London, May 10 Former Premier League striker Nile Ranger has admitted obstructing a police officer after being pulled over for drink driving on Christmas Eve - and his club now say they are severing all ties with him after he failed to attend physiotherapy sessions. Ranger, who had played for Southend United, was taken to Heathrow Police station on suspicion of drunk driving last year. The 30-year-old is said to have refused to test how much alcohol he had drunk at the station s custody suite. Ranger, who has been unfit to play for Southend while nursing a groin injury, pleaded guilty to obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty at Ealing Magistrates Court. ....
Former Town striker Ranger signs for League Two strugglers FORMER Swindon Town striker, Nile Ranger has re-signed for Southend United on a month-to-month contract. The 29-year-old spent the 2013-14 season at the County Ground, scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances. Ranger also netted a late winner as Town beat Bristol City 3-2 at home in September 2013. The striker went on to spend two years at Roots Hall between 2016 and 2018, scoring 10 goals in 49 appearances for the Shrimpers. Ranger has been training with the club in order to regain fitness and has been rewarded with a “incentivised” deal. Boss Mark Molesley told the club’s official website: “Nile has been in training for two months getting fit before integrating into the first-team training and he’s shown the right attitude ever since he walked through the door and has worked hard to get his fitness up. ....
