A youth has been charged and appeared in court yesterday after fire ravaged a Rotorua home on Friday.
The person is next due to appear again in the Youth Court on May 18.
Police and Fire and Emergency NZ staff were called to Homedale St about 12.55pm. Two appliances were sent and the fire was out by 2.42pm.
The emergency service said they are investigating the fire.
All occupants of the house were accounted for. ....

Police say the death of a woman yesterday in Auckland s central city is not suspicious.
Emergency services were called to an apartment block on Hobson St at 5.51pm after the woman was found dead.

A 24-year-old woman has appeared in court charged in relation to an incident that left a man with serious injuries yesterday.
Kiriana Toi Walker-Grace was arrested yesterday after the alleged violent attack in Methven, about an hour from Christchurch.
Walker-Grace was later taken into police custody in the Methven township.

She appeared briefly before Judge John Brandts-Giesen in the Christchurch District Court this morning.
He remanded her in custody until her next court date on May 24.
Duty lawyer Andrew McKenzie said no application for bail would be made today. ....
