WOOSTER - OHuddle held firmly to its mission this year despite the pandemic and continued its one-on-one mentoring program in innovative new ways, from Zoom calls to socially distanced visits. With the same creative ingenuity, it held its third annual insert the word virtual Golden Circle Speaker Dinner 2021 fundraiser.
Tickets purchased for the Friday evening event held online included dinner to be picked up from area restaurants and provided a link to settle in and watch the Friday evening proceedings online.
Among the features of the event were interactive quizzes to promote the success OHuddle is chalking up in school districts across the county.

Gray fox populations are dropping, and a research project aims to inform measures to protect them in Indiana. It aims to collar gray foxes in two study areas: a central site in Shelby, Decatur, and Bartholomew counties, and a southern study site in Perry, Crawford, Harrison, and Orange counties.
It is a partnership between the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the Wildlife Ecology Institute and Luther College. Lead researcher with Wildlife Ecology Institute Tim Hiller spoke with WFYI’s Taylor Bennett about what the project hopes to accomplish.
Saltes Named Finalist for Wuerffel Trophy
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – Teton Saltes has been named as one of three finalists for the 2020 Wuerffel Trophy announced. Saltes was a semifinalist last year, and he becomes UNM’s second finalist in the last four years, joining Garrett Adcock, who was a finalist in 2016.
The Wuerffel Trophy, known as “College Football’s Premier Award for Community Service,” is presented annually to the Football Bowl Subdivision player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement. Named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from the University of Florida, Danny Wuerffel, the Wuerffel Trophy exists to honor college football players who serve others, celebrate their positive impact on society, and inspire greater service in the world. The award has honored over 1,300 nominees since its inception in 2005.
