Bibliophile bookstore opening Saturday in downtown Dover

DOVER If you agree with British author Lucy Dillon that a town without a bookshop is a town without a soul, you might be heartened to know that a new one will soon open downtown.
I think that a bookstore is a pretty essential part of a town, especially a small town, not just in selling books, but a place for people to gather, said Dave Jones, who has started a bookstore with wife Sara to share the couple s love of books and learning. You don t have to buy food or drink to sit around and talk about books.
The Bibliophile: For the Love of Books will open Saturday at 241 W. Third St. Official store hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. it may be open at other times as the proprietors schedule allows. ....

The goal of the program was to support local restaurants in these challenging times and ultimately, to provide funds to purchase books for the Kennebec Valley Community Action Community Days program, generally held in June.
By any measure, both of those goals were exceeded. With the addition of a Rotary District grant and monies from ticket sales, the Dine Around Town Raffle proceeds will allow for the purchase of more than $3,950 in books through The Children’s Book Cellar. Books purchased through the raffle will be distributed by KVCAP, Educare Central Maine and Waterville Creates!, according to a news release from Rotary Club of Waterville. ....
