Quinte Health Care now allowing more caregivers in hospitals SHARE ON: More visitors will now be allowed into Quinte Health Care (QHC) facilities. The move comes as Step 2 of the province’s Roadmap to Reopening goes into effect. Caregivers are allowed to visit patients who are in the ICU or long stay wards. More people can also visit patients at end of life, childbirth, or critical care as well. For the North Hastings Hospital, visitors must still use the front doors and not go through the Centennial Manor entrance. Visitors must wear masks and physically distance themselves while in the hospital, regardless of their vaccination status. They say while vaccines are a way to help protect visitors from COVID-19, not everyone in QHC hospitals are fully vaccinated, and some patients are still at risk. ....

Jewel Wiggins, president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the manor says for the second year in a row, each woman at the Manor will receive a single carnation. Wiggins is pleased to say that once again, Posies Flowers & Gifts on Bridge Street will be donating the flowers free of charge. The flowers will be delivered Friday and will be doled out this Sunday. Wiggins says it is uplifting for the ladies at the manner to get these flowers. While COVID restrictions won’t allow the Auxiliary to give them out themselves, the PSW’s at the Manor will be giving them out. Wiggins says that they are happy to give the ladies in the manor a smile, and are thankful to Posey’s for donating the flowers again this year. ....
/ Napanee Today Apr 19, 2021 9:30 AM MPP Daryl Kramp announced an investment by the Ontario Government of $1,030,750 in one-time combined federal-provincial funding to improve and make upgrades to long-term care homes in Bancroft and Greater Napanee. It’s part of a $100 million investment to install heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, and make retrofits or repairs to fire sprinkler systems, in 95 long-term care homes across the province. These investments will help provide care, comfort and safety to residents. “This investment will benefit our long-term care residents now and in the future, providing them with greater comfort and safety,” said MPP Kramp. The John M. Parrott Centre, in Greater Napanee, will receive $48,375 to upgrade the computer software and hardware components of the building automation system. This upgrade will allow early intervention to identify issues with HVAC and exhaust systems. ....
