31 modern ICUs to be set up in Balochistan - Pakistan

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that revolutionary changes are being introduced in the health sector.
Presiding over a meeting on Thursday, he directed that a comprehensive strategy should be evolved to implement the Covid-19 Response Programme.
“Effective and concrete steps should be taken for provision of health facilities and strengthening of infrastructure in less developed areas,” he said.
The meeting was informed that the government would set up 31 state-of-the-art incentive care units (ICUs) and upgrade 31 district and 7 tehsil headquarters hospitals in the province under the Covid-19 Control Response Programme to provide maximum health facilities to the people, especially in rural areas. ....

QUETTA: The World Health Organisation on Monday handed over ambulances and motorcycles to Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani for use by the provincial health department.
A delegation led by WHO representative in Pakistan Dr Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala called on Mr Alyani at the CM secretariat. They discussed the current situation of Covid-19, health policy, improvement of human resources, issues of mutual interest including issuance of health cards.
Mr Alyani welcomed Dr Mahipala and appreciated the continued support provided by the WHO for the betterment of the public health sector in Balochistan. ....

Balochistan [Pakistan], May 4 (ANI): Amid the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in Pakistan, the provincial health secretary of Balochistan has asked the owners of private hospitals to ramp up the number of intensive care units (ICUs), high dependency units (HDUs) and ensure regular supply of oxygen.
This comes as Pakistan today reported 3,377 new infections, taking the total coronavirus cases to 834,146 cases.
From May 3 two mobile units are being launched for the convenience of the public for getting vaccination of Covid-19. Older people along with their national identity cards should visit these mobile units and get themselves vaccinated, Noorul Haq Baloch said while chairing a meeting of the Private Hospital Regulatory Authority. ....
