NNL: Insurance FC beat Gateway Utd In Benin as Second Round Begins

As the second stanza of the Nigeria National League (NNL)begins nationwide, Bendel Insurance FC,weekend defeated Gateway Utd FC of Abeokuta to move to the second spot on the log.
It was like the Benin arsenal paid back their visitors in the same coin when they broke the deadlock on the dot of 45 minutes, through their defensive midfielder Bright Osah whose header went into the net unhindered shortly before heading into the dressing room for break with confidence.
On resumption of the second half,Imade Osarenkhoe and Ojo Tolulope were close to increasing the tally for Insurance but went the other way as Haruna Salifu equalised for Gateway at the 67th minute after beating an offside trap to calmly convert a cross from the left flank,making it 1-1. ....

Insurance begin NNL 2021 season against JoyCometh as Deputy Gov lift team's spirit – Nigerian Observer

BENIN CITY -As Bendel Insurance FC of Benin prepare to begin the 2020/2021 on Saturday with their first game against Joy Cometh of Lagos ,the Deputy Governor of Edo state Rt Hon.Comrade Philip Shaibu has urged the Benin Arsenals to look and think beyond NNL in order to realise the club’s set goal this season.
The deputy Governor gave them the advice on Wednesday evening during Insurance training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
As part of his style of motivation, the deputy Governor usually spare time to train with both Insurance and Edo Queens.
” As we start the league on Saturday, I expect you to play with confidence and see yourselves as topflight players. See yourselves as NPFL players because that’s where you belong. ....
