Social network services have recently been flooded with postings showing cases of service providers coercing consumers into giving high ratings or consumers demanding discounts or free gifts in return for high ratings ― raising questions over the validity and purpose of review systems.
With growing calls for systematic improvements, Consumers Union of Korea Chairwoman Kang Jung-hwa says, however, further rules and regulations will discourage both consumers and sellers from engaging in ratings system. Rather, platform providers and consumer groups should encourage both consumers and seller ....

SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Korea Bizwire) A recent survey has revealed that 8 out of 10 food delivery app users have had the experience of ordering more than they need to meet the minimum order amount.
According to a survey conducted by the Consumers Union of Korea of 500 adult consumers living in metropolitan areas, 76.8 percent of the respondents said that their use of food delivery apps has increased since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. ....
