MILLIONS of Android phone users who ve used Google’s Play Store could receive compensation from the tech giant if a new legal claim is successful.
The claim has been filed on behalf of nearly 20 million people in the UK who downloaded apps via the store on their Android phone.

Alphabetâs Google faces a London suit over claims it overcharged nearly 20 million UK customers for app store purchases, just a month after it was sued in a similar US case.
Google Play Storeâs 30% surcharge for digital purchases is âexcessive and unfair,â the claimants said in a press release on Thursday. The suit, filed at Londonâs Competition Appeal Tribunal on Wednesday, says Google breaches European and UK competition laws at the âexpense of millions of loyal customers in the UK.â
