CLEVELAND, Ohio The opening week matchup against Kansas City is going to get the hype and rightfully so. The Chiefs are, well, the Chiefs and the Browns are an up-and-coming contender. It’s a playoff rematch. Plus, it’s opening weekend and we always overreact to opening weekend, good or bad.
Is it the most important game on the Browns’ schedule? Probably not. This is a team that lost 38-6 to a team in their division during last year’s opening weekend and they still went 11-5 and won a playoff game.

CLEVELAND, Ohio For a third place schedule, the Browns’ 2021 slate sure has some doozies.
It starts with facing the entirety of the AFC West, a division with the potential to be one of the best in football, already featuring Kansas City but also including the Chargers with one of the game’s best young quarterbacks, the Broncos with a stabilized quarterback position and the Raiders, who are no pushover.
Then there’s NFC North matchups against Green Bay of course, there’s a big if with the Packers right now and Minnesota, always a playoff contender. They also face the revamped Patriots along with their regular slate of division opponents, most notably the Ravens.

CLEVELAND, Ohio Two days into the draft, and Browns general manager Andrew Berry came away with two defenders who could be starters on a team building off last season’s playoff run.
Berry addressed his team’s biggest needs by drafting Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome II on Thursday night and moving up in the second round Friday to grab Notre Dame LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, a player chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta said the Browns considered in the first round.
