In response to the floods in 2018, Gov. John Bel Edwards launched the Louisiana Watershed Initiative, which takes on a strategic and scientific approach to managing the watersheds and floodplains in the state and helps to target frequently flooded areas. The Region 3 Louisiana Watershed Initiative hosted a community meeting Tuesday to discuss the provision governance recommendation approved by the Regional Steering Committee. The governance recommendation for Region 3 offered the forming of a long-term Watershed Coalition comprised of private and public representatives. ....

That’s why Morrison worked with Watershed Alliance of Southwest Washington to create a memorial for Clark County people of color who have died of COVID-19.
