A Pineville man who was at the center of a standoff last year with the Rapides Parish Sheriff s Office agreed to a plea deal on Monday. Darren Wayne Carraway pleaded guilty to a felony charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. In exchange for that guilty plea, other felony charges of resisting arrest with force or violence, aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of a weapon were dropped. On Aug. 31, 2020, Carraway remained inside a home in the 300 block of Brent Street after he fired a shot during a dispute with his girlfriend. At the time of the incident, the girlfriend said the two had an argument before Carraway pulled out a gun, aimed it at her and then fired a shot near her, according to the sheriff s office.
