Yunusa was arraigned on seven counts of advance fee fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. According to the EFCC, Yunusa and two others, Inuwa Abdu and Habibu Inuwa, who are still at large, defrauded their victims of N1,520,000 under the guise of executing a contract of supplying pipes to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company. Yunusa was said to have convinced the victims to finance the contract and promised to share the profit with them. ....

A brother to Ashwe, Raphael Ushahemba Ashwe, had petitioned the panel, alleging Morris’ enforced disappearance against the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Benue State and the IGP. The petitioner told the panel that his brother was arrested by the IRT in Makurdi on May 1, 2018, adding that the family initially had access to his brother while he was being detained in the Benue State capital. ....
A Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State has convicted and sentenced two students for fraudulent impersonation. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday by its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, saying its Ibadan Zonal Office secured the conviction of the defendants. Both men – Opeyemi Folarin and Ogunseye Olamilekan – were brought before Justice Patricia Ajoku who convicted them of the crime they were accused of. Folarin is said to be a Higher National Diploma (HND) student of The Ibadan Polytechnic and Ogunseye claims to be a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in Ogun State. ....
