Abilene police arrest woman for cocaine possession A woman was arrested for possessing cocaine after being found asleep in her vehicle Thursday morning, police said. The woman was found asleep in a vehicle with the engine running in the 2300 block of Barrow Street, police said. There was an open alcoholic beverage container in plain view, according to reports. Police woke the woman up and asked her to step out of her vehicle. She admitted she had been drinking and didn t want to be driving, so she pulled into a parking lot, according to police. Police asked her to perform field sobriety tests, but she reportedly performed poorly. She was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. ....
The Christian County Clerk’s Office will host a flag-raising event Monday morning. The event is a part of Donate Life Month, every April, to help the public learn about the organ donor registry. The Donate Life Flag will be featured at the Christian County Justice Center on Justice Way in Hopkinsville Monday morning at 10:08. During the event, Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch and Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble will present a proclamation and lead in a 1 minute 8 second moment of silence, representing that one donor can save eight lives. The Clerk’s office will also raffle off a home decor item donated by Cayce Mill Supply, with the proceeds to be donated to the Circuit Court Clerk’s ‘Trust For Life’ to promote organ donor awareness in Kentucky. ....
