Maharashtra Minister of Social Justice Dhananjay Munde, on Thursday, put a brave face and denied that he has resigned. He attended the weekly Janata Darbar at the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) headquarters in South Mumbai and personally looked into the grievances raised by citizens.
Munde, who had briefed his case to party boss Sharad Pawar on Wednesday, also met state unit chief Jayant Patil and made his submission.
âI have put up my argument before Pawar and the party. Let Pawar take a decision,ââ said Munde. He has already denied all allegations and claimed that he is being blackmailed by the complainant and her sister with whom he was in a relationship and has two children. ....

Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra Minister of Social Justice Dhananjay Munde, on Tuesday, rubbished the allegations of rape levelled against him by a singer, Renu Sharma.
ââFrom Monday, some documents about me have been circulating on social media, in which I have been accused of rape. A woman named Renu Sharma has tweeted the document from her own Twitter account. The documents show that some complaint has been lodged against me. All these false allegations are defaming me and are in order to blackmail me,ââ Munde wrote on Facebook. ....

Maharashtra: Govt to issue smart cards to overcome late disbursal of post matriculation scholarships

Of the 9.09 lakh students awaiting disbursals, 62,593 are from the Scheduled Castes, for which the scholarships are handed out by Munde’s department. According to sources, the department has undisbursed scholarships totalling Rs 42 crore.
“Despite switching over to direct benefit transfers (DBT) in 2017-18, there is still considerable delay in disbursal in several cases, which puts students in a quandary. This is why we have decided to launch the new smart card programme,” said Munde.
Currently, once a scholarship application is approved by the department, the amount is withdrawn from the treasury and pooled in a central account, which then transfers it to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of students. ....
