The man was a crew member aboard the Sea Queen II, which is currently anchored between Sunset Beach and Seal Beach.

Traffic fatality at 7th Street and Ohio Avenue | Orange County Breeze

On July 17, 2021 at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to an injury traffic collision in the area of 7th Street and Ohio Avenue, which resulted in the death of a male adult. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male adult victim in the roadway in need of medical attention. The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and transported him to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2010 Ford Mustang, driven by Humberto Mendez Chavez of Long Beach, was traveling westbound on 7th Street when he struck the victim riding a VEO Electric Scooter in the roadway. Chavez remained on scene and it was determined he was driving with an expired driver’s license.

By then, however, his death was already at least a month old. On Nov. 24, 2020, Camacho told an acquaintance that he had been assaulted while in a “homeless shelter somewhere in Hollywood or the Hollywood area,” police said. Machado had been experiencing homelessness, authorities noted. The next morning at 3:49 a.m. the Long Beach Fire Department was called to a residence in Cambodia Town along the 1300 block of Alhambra Court where they picked up Machado and took him to a local hospital. The coroner’s report said Machado died that same day on Nov. 25, 2020 from internal bleeding caused by blunt force abdominal trauma with laceration of the spleen.
