The Brooklyn Nets survived the regular season without their Big Three of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving consistently on the floor at the same time to get the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
They were not anticipating being forced to survive postseason games without members of their trio, but Brooklyn is facing that scenario and an entirely new series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Nets likely will be down to Durant Tuesday night when the Eastern Conference semifinals shift to Brooklyn for Game 5.
Nets coach Steve Nash said Monday that Irving will not play due to a sprained ankle he suffered in Game 4. Nash said he was unsure about Harden s status for Game 5 as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams turned their road trip to Durant Tuesday into a business trip, sweeping the Wildcats on their home floor. The Golden Hawk girls were a 54-29 winner to complete a season sweep of Durant. Mid-Prairie opened the game on an 8-2 run and never trailed on the day, holding a 23-19 lead at the half. The Hawks asserted control with a dominant third quarter, forcing 14 turnovers in the frame and going on a 16-4 run that lasted the entire period to open a 39-23 lead. Mid-Prairie would finish the game by outscoring the Wildcats 15-6 in the fourth. After the game, Mid-Prairie head coach Danny Hershberger talked about his team’s impressive second half. “We executed the offense well early and the defense was really good to start the game. We pride ourselves on good defense and being active. When we are doing that and moving our feet we are tough to score on. In the second half we got them to turn the ball over a lot. We settled down on offense and
