Govt asked to abolish Section 4-A of Service Tribunal Act

PESHAWAR: The Secretaries Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday asked the government to abolish Section 4-A of the Service Tribunal Act.
The association’s president Liaquat Khan Jhagra, senior vice president Taufiq Ayub and general secretary Hadiyat Shah said that the Service Tribunal Act empowered the employees to file an appeal in the service tribunal if the provincial government or department did any injustice with them or usurped their rights.
They said that under Section 4- A of the Service Tribunal Act the affected employees had to file a departmental appeal before filing an appeal against the provincial government. They said that an appellant had to wait for 90 days to move the service tribunal, which was illogical. ....

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Empowering school-based assessment (PBS) and classroom assessment (PBD) from this year is the best way to develop students holistically, says an expert.
Assoc Prof Dr Azlin Norhaini Mansor, senior lecturer at the Centre Department of Education Leadership and Policy of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) said this would cover various aspects including physical, spiritual and intellectual, compared to the existing method which focuses more on academic achievement through examinations.
When we switch to PBS, there will be less comparison and competition, like 5As are better than 4As , then there may not be a situation where many pupils want to score 5As in UPSR. ....

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal Tuesday urged for collective efforts for eradicating corruption so that we leave for our future generations a better and prosperous Pakistan.
“The NAB is determined to the success of NAB’s mission of eradication of corruption from Pakistan by utilising all its resources by adopting “Accountability for All” policy. NAB is committed to its firm resolve to fulfill its commitment to the task of making Pakistan a corruption free nation,” he said while chairing a meeting to review performance of Awareness and Prevention Division especially the “Role of youth in eradication of corruption” at NAB Headquarters. ....
