Jewish Community Center prepares to keep kids safe at summer camp

Summer is months away, but for kids, a chance to get back outside with friends couldn t come any sooner. One Baltimore County-based organization is already preparing for that with the return of its version of summer camp with COVID-19-friendly measures keeping kids safe.Socially distanced and masked fun will be part of new ways to play at summer camp at the Jewish Community Center s popular J Camps. COVID-19 forced staff to quickly rework plans. We had a little bit less kids last summer, but at the same time, the energy on campus was just as amazing, assistant camp director Stacy Deems said.The camps are kid-approved. Soft-spoken but excited, fifth grader Rebecca Young can t wait to go back, and her mom, Arnetta Young, approves, too. I made a lot of new friends there, Rebecca Young said. They were very attentive and very patient, and anytime there was a possibility of COVID, then their protocols went into place immediately, there were emails sent to parents, Arnetta Young ....
