The finalized numbers released today from the Antrim County hand-tallied audit yesterday continue to affirm the accuracy of the Nov. 3 general election certified results. The final numbers 9,759 for Donald Trump and 5,959 for Joe Biden represent a net gain of 12 votes for Trump, largely mirroring the machine-tabulation results from Nov. 3.
“With these final numbers, we again have conclusive proof of the safety, security and accuracy of the election results in Antrim,” said Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. “The time has come for those in positions of authority to live up to their obligation to put conspiracy theories about the election outcome thoroughly to bed. We will continue to conduct audits throughout the state, and I am confident they will be to the same end to reinforce that the Nov. 3 election was the most secure election in Michigan’ ....

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson joined a bipartisan group of 17 Secretaries of State across the country in ending a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader of the House Kevin McCarthy in support of adequately funding the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) during fiscal year 2021.
“This year, election officials across the country stepped up to the plate to conduct a fair, secure and transparent election under extraordinary circumstances,” said Secretary Benson. “It is vital to our democracy that we ensure election workers have the resources they need to do their jobs, and that starts with allocating sufficient funding. This letter is a bipartisan and good-faith effort to urge our congressional leaders to act.” ....

Today is the last day for Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey to support the voting rights of Michigan service members and their spouses who are serving overseas.
Senate Bill 117 would give these Michigan citizens the ability to return their absentee ballots electronically via a secure portal, ensuring that the U.S. Postal Service does not delay their vote beyond when it can be counted on Election Day.
The bill passed both the state House and Senate in September by overwhelming bipartisan majorities, and yet Sen. Shirkey has since unilaterally refused to deliver it for Governor Gretchen Whitmer to sign into law. ....
