Can you believe that the State of Connecticut doesn t have an official state dog? Well that could all change if one State Senator has any say in the matter.
Let s see, Connecticut already has a state flower, the Mountain-Laurel, a state bird, American Robin, a state nickname (actually two), the Nutmeg State and the Constitution State and heck, we even have a state shellfish, the Eastern Oyster. So why has it taken this long to even consider the fact that the state should have a state dog.
Now according to wtnh.com, State Senator Eric Berthel of Watertown wants the state to add a dog to the list of all things Connecticut. I ll give you three guesses as to what dog would be the front runner and the first two guesses don t count. Yup, you got it, the Husky.
