FOR THE REGISTER Land Trust of Napa County announced a 30-acre addition to one of its most popular properties, the Archer Taylor Preserve on the ridgeline at the end of Redwood Road near the Sonoma County line. The preserve, now at 399 acres, is located within a critical wildlife corridor running the length of the Mayacamas range along the ridge between Sonoma and Napa counties. The new addition also connects the preserve to other protected land along this corridor, further ensuring the viability of the corridor over the long term, the Land Trust said in a news release. âThis preserve is one of our key holdings and weâre proud to have worked with both families â first the Taylors, Connie, Ann and Annâs husband Charlie Schwing, who donated land to create the preserve, and now the Kublers â to permanently protect this land and all of its natural values,â said Doug Parker, CEO of the Land Trust. ....

St. Helena City Councilmember Anna Chouteau and Napa County Planning Commissioner Anne Cottrell plan to run for the District 3 supervisorial seat that will be vacated by Diane Dillon in 2022. Chouteau and Cottrell filed 501 Candidate Intention Statements for District 3 last week, which is a precursor to filing for candidacy. Dillon announced on Jan. 27 that she would not run for re-election. Chouteau and Cottrell, both St. Helena residents, are the first people to publicly announce plans to run for the seat.
